Snack ideas
PCOS snacks I recommend
Hungry between meals? Skip the biscuits, soda and sweets. These are everyday Ghanaian snacks, in portions that work. The goal isn’t a magic PCOS snack. It’s food that satisfies you, gives you real nutrition and fits the way you already eat.

Tiger nuts
High in fibre, so they keep you full, and they bring zinc too.

Mixed seeds
Pumpkin and other seeds, raw or roasted, with plenty of water.

Dakoa
Groundnut and maize rolled into balls. My favourite Ghanaian snack.

Mixed nuts
About half a standard cup, not the whole bag.

Kosua ne meko
Boiled eggs with pepper. One or two is enough.

Pawpaw
One of my go-to fruits. Good for your gut and keeps you regular.
“Two bananas, not the bunch. Portion size applies.”
Bananas with groundnuts

Boiled corn with coconut
A portion of the cob, not the whole big corn, with some coconut.
“Unsweetened, about 150 to 200 ml, topped with groundnuts.”
Greek yoghurt with groundnuts
